Kirkstall Festival

Today we went to the 32nd Kirkstall Festival held as always in the grounds of Kirkstall Abbey. It had been about 15 years since last went to the festival, and how had it grown ! There were 3 Stages, 2 Arenas and 3 other performance areas. Just about every possible taste was catered for with sets from Brass bands to Rock bands ( TIP. keep an eye or ear open for GLASSBODY ) and from Gymnastic displays to Orchestra and Circus.

We managed to avoid the Leeds Morris Men >>> Its just a phase <<<
but unfortunately missed the Birds of Prey flying display.
As well as loads of catering outlets again covering every taste regardless of culture, age or dietary needs. There were many trade, charity and community stalls.
One of which was St Stephens Church for their Roof restoration appeal, were you could buy a tile for the roof and stick a small tile on the roof of a model of the Church.
Tia Greyhound Rescue's stall.

Of course my favourite stall there was Tia Greyhound Rescue from where I got; a felt fridge magnet, black tassels and 4 more Greyhound pin badges. Chris is addicted to tom bowlers and today was extremely lucky coming home with lots of useless prizes, all except a bottle of wine.

  1. Kirkstall Abbey looks so pretty :D
I must visit some time :)
