I Think I May Have Wasted My Youth, Working Too Much!

I left school as soon as I could, and a bit before I should have, a few days before my sixteenth birthday.
I messed / lazed around for a few weeks then settled in to my first proper job as a Commies (Trainee) Chef at a Pub cum Restaurant
The Jester Pub, where I first worked. Not my pic
The hours were ridiculous I worked `split shifts’ something like 10.00 AM to 2.30 PM and 6.00 PM to 11.00 PM five days a week AND one day at collage on `Day release`
I had a 45 minute bus journey 3 times a day and a `staff taxi` home at night, often not getting home much before midnight!
I must have spent 90% of my waken time wearing Chefs Whites, so I never needed to buy many cloths. In winter I never saw daylight! The only money I spent seemed to be at work on drink!
Did have some fun there, we made the world`s largest Yorkshire Pudding (Me on right)
After two years I changed jobs to one in a hotel, there I worked a 40 hour week, four days at work and one day at collage. I started going into town in my lunch break at collage and would usually buy a couple of albums on cassette, I had found Punk Rock, but it was not until 1979, when I was 20 that I went to my first Punk Club. The rest, as they say is history.
